Metal Fins
Usually, we have seen plastic fins in water skis. Although they are good, they cannot resist high pressures. As soon as O’Brien came to know about this disadvantage of plastic fins they stopped using them and instead in the Pro Combo skis, there are metallic fins.
These fins are strong and durable. Moreover, they generate speed. The metal flush mount fins are a specialty of Pro Combo and must not go unnoticed. You will surely love this pair of skis and they would not disappoint you. Being lightweight makes them durable enough too.

X-9 Bindings
Bindings are an important element of water skis. And O’Brien has done a great job upgrading each new model. Their bindings are always very adjustable and comfortable. The X-9 Bindings integrated into the Pro Combo are just like that. These bindings support a wide range of men’s sizes i.e. from 7-13.
These skies are very useful because one of them can even be used as a single ski for slaloming. The rear toe piece helps in this purpose. For strapping in tight the laces are also included with the bindings. Thus safety and comfort fully guaranteed.
The Verdict
Although many products by O’Brien are extremely good and made of high quality. This is also a good one but has one major con which seems to overrule on all of its pros and features etc. Nearly all 9 out 0f 10 users reported that the slalom ski broke up in half just on their second or third ride. This is a very serious problem and a risky one too.
For safety purposes, we would not recommend you to buy this pair of skis; however, we don’t mean that you should stop buying O’Brien products. Other ones of them are quality products of high quality and very durable too. Even in this case, the other ski did not break, the problem was only reported with the slalom one. Customers should exercise caution if they have already bought this product.
