Even More Rocker

For a slalom type ski, the rocker is what adds stability to the board. Sometimes, one also has to perform beveled rides and stunts, even for this purpose, a good amount of rocker is very necessary. O’Brien knew this so, to make G5 the best one, they added even more rocker. The perfect amount of rocker, blended with high-quality carbon fiber and PVC Core, allows smooth and forgiving turns.

Similarly, as described above it also helps in beveled rides. The board is crafted as such that it is narrower at the ends and comparatively wide in the middle; this design reduces the water drag and thus allows for more speed.

Fin Included

The G5 water ski users have a lot of room for adjustment. The company decided to just include the fin within the package and not fit it in the ski. This way, a customer can tune the board just according to their requirements. More adjustability ultimately results in more comfort while riding. One can fit and then tighten the fin as per required.

The G5 has a balanced shape and design that binding placement and fin adjustment will not make a very big difference. However, experts even care for minor adjustments and therefore this feature is being loved by them.

The Verdict

For concluding the review on the O’Brien G5 Water Ski which includes a Fin, we would say that it is a good one but unfortunately overpriced. On the other hand, the features of G5 also cannot be ignored. The ski has the best possible shape ever which reduces the water drag as well as generates speed too.

Although the bindings and fins don’t come pre-fitted, if we look at this point from another angle, it is beneficial too, because it allows for minor adjustments. The problem only comes with beginners, they cannot perform such minor adjustments. This is why the rider ability is set for intermediates to experts.
